About Howard E. Fineman
My portfolio includes architecture abstracts, cityscapes, waterscapes, and landscapes. I am drawn to imagery with fascinating shapes, patterns, structures, and textures. When these visual elements combine, as in architectural designs or reflections, they can simultaneously show stark and subtle beauty. Zooming in on elements and features often shows them in a new way – sometimes emphasizing the full view and other times extracting a different way of seeing it.
I continue to explore visual contradictions in a diverse series called “Order & Chaos” in which elements simultaneously work together while contending. While most of my work is in color, I render selected images in black and white to emphasize form, light and shadow.

My web presence is FinemanPhotography.com with many galleries that span the range of my work. The curator of contemporary art at a major US museum said about my image of the Reichstag Dome in Berlin: “…you’ve created a very unique vision – an abstract transformation of the architecture, which reminds me of some of the great cubist-inspired photographs of the early 20th century.”
I custom make my Giclee prints on archival papers using Epson UltraChrome pigment inks and use only conservation-grade materials and processes for matting, mounting and framing to assure that you will be able to enjoy these fine art prints for many years to come. I also offer professional lab prints on metal, as canvas wraps, and as face-mounted acrylics.
Before becoming a professional artist, my tech career focused on strategy and operations and the underlying technologies for the businesses, spanning various parts of IT engineering and manufacturing from mini-computers and PCs to data center servers and information storage & management. My earlier work in aerospace and defense included the Apollo program. Now, when I’m not immersed in art, I volunteer at SCORE Association as a certified mentor for small business entrepreneurs, as a member of the National Advisory Council, and served as Boston Chapter co-chair in 2015-16.
